Conditions

  • The new table for requesting award tickets is valid until December 31, 2010.
  • The destinations listed in the above table, may vary due to changes in Alitalia and Air One’s flight schedule.
  • The number of miles needed for a rountrip award ticket with at least one of the flights in Areas AZ0 to AZ3 is equal to the total mileage required for the longest flight on the itinerary. It’s equal to the total mileage required for each of the connecting flights for flights in Areas AZ4 to AZ6.
  • Within the AZ0 area, you can request the one-way award tickets only for direct flights, without transit; for flights between the areas AZ1 and AZ7, only one transit is allowed (connecting a domestic Italian flight to the departure hub).
  • Taxes and fuel surcharges for award tickets are at the expense of the member. Amounts are those applied at the moment of the award ticket issuing and vary according to the airports of departure and the selected destination.

Requiring twice as many miles as Standard, the Flex award ticket (available only on Alitalia flights): 

  • gives you access to more seats in Economy class 

  • lets you change your itinerary at any time without penalties 

  • entitles you to an extra 10 kg of excess baggage in addition to the allowance for the Club you are a member of.

Conditions  

  • The round/trip ticket must be in different Service Classes (part in Economy Class and Part in Business/Magnifica Class).
  • Tickets can be requested on international flights operated by the Alitalia Group.
  • Tickets can be requested only by contacting your nearest Alitalia Office.
  • The destinations listed in the above table, may vary due to changes in Alitalia’s flight schedule.
  • Taxes and fuel surcharges for award tickets are at the expense of the member. Amounts are those applied at the moment of the award ticket issuing and vary according to the airports of departure and the selected destination.
  • Once issued, the award ticket cannot be reimbursed. It can be replaced or changed as long as the ticket is valid by paying a penalty (5,000 miles or 55 euros).
  • In case the change to the type of ticket (from Business/Magnifica to Economy) creates a miles residue, these miles will be lost and will not be refunded to the member, under any circumstances.
  • It’s possibile to request a MultiClass ticket with a mileage purchase, according to the round/trip Standard Award Ticket rule.

How to request an award ticket

Depending on the type of award ticket, you can use the following channels:

  • Alitalia website: booking and ticketing of award tickets in Economy Class (both STANDARD and FLEX, on direct or indirect flights) and in Business Class (STANDARD only, direct flights only) or MultiClass flights, only on flights operated by the Alitalia group, access to Award Ticket Online
  • MilleMiglia Customer Services: to book and issue all types of award tickets, including the one with mileage purchase and on Air One flights.
    Remember to communicate your MilleMiglia code, the number of your ID document (or that of a beneficiary) and your credit card number (for billing the airport taxes). On arrival at the airport, go straight to check-in to pick up your boarding pass and the receipt for the ticket.

 And from now on, with the new Buy Miles service, you can buy the miles you need, purchase miles as a gift or transfer your miles to friends or family members. 

General rules for Alitalia and Air One award tickets

  • Rewards are valid for twelve (12) months from the date of issue and cannot be reimbursed.
  • Bookings will be automatically cancelled if the award ticket is not issued within the time limit from the date the booking was made
  • You can ask for an updrade from an Economy ticket to a Business/Magnifica one at Alitalia Ticket Offices, the same day of departure2. The change of booking and miles deduction, equal to the cost difference of the two tickets, will be done at that same moment.
    We suggest to show up at the airport at least 2 hours before the foreseen check-in time time-limit deadline. The ticketing offices in some of these airports may request a ticketing charge, that varies according to the departure and arrival points.
  • To changes to award tickets where penalties will apply, the amount will be of 5,000 miles or 55 euros. Penalty it’s not applicable in case of date or time change, and in case of changes to the beneficiary that require a switch3 from a Flex ticket to a Standard or, viceversa, from Standard to a Plus ticket.
  • For each ticket, a maximum of two (2) involuntary transfers at intermediary airports between the point of departure and destination are allowed. Stop overs are not allowed.

1. The number of seats reserved for passengers holding Award tickets is limited. The amount of available seats may vary based on the season when flights are requested.
2. Service available at the following airports:

  • in Italy at Rome Fiumicino, Milan Linate, Alghero, Bari, Bologna, Brindisi, Cagliari, Catania, Crotone, Florence, Lamezia Terme, Naples, Palermo, Reggio Calabria, Trieste, Turin, Venice;

  • abroad at Algiers, Athens, Barcelona, Berlin, Boston, Brussels, Bucharest, Buenos Aires, Cairo, Caracas, Chicago, Frankfurt, Geneva, Kiev, Istanbul, Lagos, London Heathrow, Madrid, Malta, Miami, New York JFK and Newark, Nice, Paris Charles De Gaulle and Orly, Sao Paulo, Sofia, Tel Aviv, Thessaloniki, Tirana, Tokyo, Toronto, Tunis and Valencia.  

3. In case the change to the type of ticket (from Flex to Standard) creates a miles residue, these miles will be lost and will not be refunded to the member, under any circumstances.
